Every Noz fan knows that the party doesn’t stop when the bands leave the main stage. The Cubicles is where it’s at for some of the biggest beats and heaviest basslines you’ll hear all weekend. With our #PlayNozstock2013 competition for those armed with guitars it’d be rude not to run a NozstockDJComp for all you budding DJ Yodas and Andy Cs. We’ve teamed up with official media partner Dogs On Acid to offer you the chance of winning a DJ slot at this year’s Nozstock. All you need to do is get one of your best mixes up on SoundCloud and get as many favorites as possible. We’ll pick the winner out of one of these tracks…

Click here for full information on how to apply. You’ve got till Sunday 26th May to enter so get uploading now!

Crew Profile – Carys Kelly, Director of Fabulousness

What was your favourite festival moment of Nozstocks past?
ArtWank in 2012. Ophelia Bitz, the host of our fabulous cabaret, brought her one woman show, vintage porn show to the Bantam of the Opera theatre stage. I laughed and cringed and it was bloody brilliant.

What’s your top tip for surviving the festival?
Glamping is definitely the way. Get all your necessities in miniature, battery powered fairy lights, sparkly things and a good air mattress.

What three things couldn’t you live without over the weekend?
Gaffa tape
My phone

The funniest thing you’ve seen at Nozstock was…
Random fun and games with Neil on the bandstand ‘Ow! What’s wrong with you’ where the audience come on stage to confess their quirks and defects. Last year a man actually took his legs off!!

What are you most looking forward to at Noz’13?
Obviously, the Velveteen Valley cabarets. This year is absolutely going to be the most fabulous ever and there are a few surprises in store.  Also, can’t wait to see The Strypes. This is definitely one not to miss.

Random interesting fact…
I’m too important to be able to tolerate wheat.

Garden Stage line up released…

Festival Girls

There is nothing we love more than a good line up announcement here at The Hidden Valley and this one’s a bit of a corker, if we do say so ourselves. Nozstock’s longest running stage, The Garden Stage, has released its first crop of acts for 2013, with supreme selector Mr Scruff and international party starter DJ Yoda topping the bill. They are joined by King Porter Stomp, Sonny Wharton, By The Rivers, More Like Trees and Gypsy Unit to name but a few.  It doesn’t end there though; underground pioneer Kasra and award winning D.J, S.P.Y are joining possibly the best Cubicles line up ever. It’s not just the musical stages getting in on the action. For those on a quest for culture, The Tent of Temporary Thought have booked the cream of the U.Ks poetic talent, alongside some thought provoking talks by Dr Aubrey De Grey. All this plus cart rides, willow weaving and learning basic blacksmithing skills in the craft area. We feel quite dizzy with excitement…

Family Fun Times…

Those people from The Enchanted Glade Kids Area are a pleasant lot. They have just announced the first nuggets of interactive family entertainment on offer this year. In a friendly, welcoming environment for both parents and little ‘uns alike, all are welcome to get creative, be amazed or roll your sleeves up for some physical fun. We have something for every age, including a brand new preschool area and storytelling for mini Nozstockers all the way up to Totem Pole workshops and headdresses for the more industrious amongst you!

Full of Theatrical Inspiration?

With bewitching theatre and interactive workshops, the Bantam of the Opera Stage has grown into a forum for engaging performance and experimentation. This year we are looking to commission a brand new piece of theatre especially for the daytime programme. It could be new writing, puppetry or physical theatre, as long as it’s fun, innovative or eccentric we want to hear about it! Shows will be pre watershed and should be between 30 and 60 minutes duration. Nozstock will provide a fee, crew and of course tickets to the event. If you want to get your ideas on the Nozstock stage then check out our competitions page for full details and send us your ideas before April 19th…

Expect a Saturday night of sets from Wilkinson, Loadstar, Loko, MC Visionobi and of course, Andy C and GQ. Hype, hype, hype!

Cosy camping awaits with Yippee Yurts…

We know two things about you Nozzers. 1. You’re hardcore. Number 2. You have impeccable taste (because you come to Nozstock, duh!)

If there’s one thing that would make your Noz experience that little bit snugger, it would be having a non-soggy sleeping bag and no muddy footprints on the tent ceiling from the previous weekend (don’t ask). If this sounds like your festival wish list, then you need to book yourself in for some cosy camping.

We’re over the moon to have partnered up with Yippee Yurts who are offering you the chance to build a pick and mix package that suits you (and your wallet!) for the festival weekend, with cosy and spacious fab cotton canvas (no soggy nylon nightmares here!) bell tents, assembled and waiting for you simply furnished with scatter cushions, textile rugs, fleecy throws and decorated around the entrance with solar fairy lights, and more standing room than you’ll know what to do with. If you want to push the boat out why not book an airbed with bedlinen and a snuggly duvet! In the Yippee Village there’ll be a covered chill area with chairs, tables, bbq’s and charging facilities for your phones and pads! They even offer a luggage porter service and they stay on-site to look after you for the whole event! Start your cosy camping experience at or email  to chose what you want for your weekend home.

Just imagine, perfect days at Nozstock and perfect nights in your bell tent. Could your weekend get any better?

Stroll into the Wild, Wild West…

There’s a strange feeling in the Hidden Valley these days. Tumbleweeds are appearing over the hills, cacti are growing through the brambles and- slightly more traumatising- our farmers have taken to wearing, ahem, ‘chaps’. There’s only one explanation for this Nozzers, we must be getting ready for a huge weekend in the Wild West this July! It’s our official theme for 2013, so dig out your cowboy hats, fringed moccasins, saloon skirts and darn good John Wayne impressions while we set to work making this farm wild enough for the both us!
