Do it for the cows!

For most of the year the lush green rolling slopes of Nozstock are home to a herd of hungry Hereford cows, who are always eager to get back into their fields after the festival. With this in mind we like to do our bit to preserve the land and last year we were lucky enough to win a bronze Greener Festival Award.

So what have we introduced this year you might be asking? Ladies and Gentlemen please be upstanding as for the first time we have introduced a £5 eco bond to help us keep the site even more clean, green, and cow friendly.

How does it work? You will be given bin bags when you arrive, fill up a bag of recycling or rubbish bring it down to our new cecyrcling centre to sort on the Sunday afternoon or Monday morning and you will get your £5 back. Simples!

Our clean campsite team will also be coming round to meet everyone and provide some gentle words of encouragement. Clean campsite judge, Cydney, said, “The campsite is a collection of little communities and we will be visiting your area to check out the friendliness and cleanliness of your crew. There are some great prizes to be won and you can extra points for recycling, decorating your area and showing us any special skills.”

We are also introducing a new clean campsite award this year – The Neighbourly Award. Clean Campsite judge Cass said, “The Neigbourly award celebrates the finest in human compassion and good will. We will be looking for tales of those who have reached out and helped their Noz-door neighbours”

So we will be asking you to “do it for the cows!” and you might just get a pat on the back for picking up your tat!

There are plenty of other opportunities to help green-up the festival; have you considered how you are getting to Nozstock yet? Check out our travel page for buses, lift sharing, and more!

If you are coming by car, why not offer up any spare seats through the GoCarShare website – by offering a spare seat, or by putting in a request for a lift on the site you could be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to Nozstock 2018! Alternatively Coaches are running from key locations including London, Bristol, Hereford and Worcester.

This year there will also be a reuseable cup scheme at the bar. Pay a pound for your first cup and you can get a fresh clean cup every time you bring it back to the bar.

Award winning green efforts…

We are very pleased to announce that Nozstock has been recognised with an Improvers Award in A Greener Festival Awards 2016. Improvers Awards are given to events which exhibit a significant engagement with the process of reducing environmental impact. A Greener Festival is a non-profit organisation dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of music festivals and events. Since 2007 they have assessed over 300 festivals and have been instrumental in helping events to become more environmentally conscious. Since the schemes relaunch in 2016, festivals have been challenged more than ever to be awarded so we are especially thrilled that our efforts have been recognised in this way. A huge thank you to all the AGF assessors and all our punters, crew, artists and traders who did everything they could to make Nozstock 2017 clean and green!

Going greener for 2017

nightsign

We’ve been busy hatching plans for how we can go greener for Noz’ 2017.  One of the big suggestions to come out of the survey from you guys, was the introduction of a refundable eco-bond to encourage visitors to clean up their campsite. These have been introduced across a whole bunch o’ festivals lately and we feel it’s time to do the same here in the Hidden Valley. So, you’ll find a £5 deposit is added to each ticket when purchasing from today onwards. This is fully refunded at the festival on the Monday morning, when you provide us with a full bin bag of rubbish (no bottles and cans please – they’re for the recycling), and your barcoded eco-bond ticket. We’re really looking forward to seeing how sparkling the site can look with a gentle nudge in a greener direction and thank you for all the other green and clean suggestions you’ve been sending in – keep ’em coming!

The Timer’s Been Set for Buying Tickets…

Can you believe Nozstock is just eight days away??! We’re counting down the days here at the farm14895277033_d5c91bbdae_z and everything’s looking pretty peachy. Just a quick note to say remember that we stop selling tickets at MIDNIGHT on SATURDAY 18TH JULY via our website so you gotta get in quick. The only way you’ll be able to snag a ticket after Saturday is through See Tickets, who will continue selling them until midnight on Wednesday 22nd. If you want to buy a local ticket then vendors in Bromyard will be selling them for the next few days- but when they’re gone they really are gone.  If you haven’t already planned your travel, spare a thought to the Nozstock buses and the GoCarShare pages. Make some festival friends and keep it green!

We can’t wait to see you next weekend, don’t forget to pack your bass faces!
