Clowns Without Borders

Global conflict affects 1.5 billion people. It has forced 32 million children to flee their homes. Alongside this, natural disasters affect over 200 million people each year. Conflict, displacement and extreme weather events have immeasurable effects on children and their families. They disturb and alter childhood experiences, strip children of their rights, and constrain opportunities to learn, recover and flourish through play. Whilst other agencies provide for material needs – like food, water and shelter – we provide children with critical emotional- first aid through laughter and play when they need it the most. It is essential to the health and well-being of every child in their learning and development and even aids in the processing of trauma and expression of difficult emotion.

Our playful performances and workshops create safe, joyful spaces which offer immediate solace, providing a supportive environment for children in some of the most challenging places on earth.
