Foreign Affairs is the musical collaboration of brothers Adam and Lawrence Purnell, who began writing together in their early teens.
Despite Adam relocating to Brussels to study guitar, the pair continued their writing sessions over Skype – their long-distance partnership providing the inspiration for their name.
Upon Adam’s return to the UK the duo released their first single, “Sell My Soul”. Shortly followed by their first EP “The Old Fire Station” in December of 2018.
This record was the culmination of their journey to date, the sounds, sights and experiences that the duo have shared.
The EP received widespread critical acclaim and kicked off a 22 date European tour with a Grammy-nominated artist Larkin Poe.
The duo signed their first publishing deal, to Peer Music, in October 2019. They’ve since released a host of new music, garnering support and national radio play from BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing.
Foreign Affairs have also been working with acclaimed producer and songwriter Julian Emery (Nothing But Thieves, McFly) on sync / commercial side projects – scouted for their lyrical and song-writing talent.
