Jazz rap artist Tripplejayy is a talent firmly on the rise. Although hailing from a sleepy town in Shropshire he effortlessly exudes a charm and presence from an era well beyond his years. Citing inspiration from the likes of Biggie Smalls band MF DOOM as key influences he instantly draws parallels to the iconic sounds of Loyle Carner and Kofi Stone. TrippleJayy’s recent self-released EP New Funk, New Wave speaks openly of the tribulations he’s been through as a young adult whilst still maintaining an authenticity that’s rare to find in modern times. With heavy rotation from BBC Introducing and receipt of two of their prestigious ‘Record Of The Week’ accolades, he’s clearly a name to watch and a new voice to take note of.
