Ever found yourself standing in a festival field, basking in the sunshine, listening to great music surrounded by wonderful people covered in glitter and thought:, “The kids would absolutely love this”? As luck would have it, that’s what we’ve been thinking all along. Nozstock is, after all, the fabled family barbecue turned family-run, family-friendly festival!
Accompanied by ticket holding adults, teens are welcome at a discounted price, and children aged 12 and under can enter Nozstock completely free.
Whether it’s your first family festival, or if your little ones are already seasoned festival-goers. Team Noz has got you covered!
When you first arrive at the festival, the whole family will receive their wristbands (complete with guardians’ contact details). Then, our super helpful stewards will guide you to your campsite. Family (Only) Camping is just past the Dingle, the next field over from your friendly neighbourhood Quiet Campers’ field. Further away from the action, but not too far for little legs.
Our family camping field is home to live-in vehicles and family-size tents, plus the equipment that family camping entails! If you’ve opted to Save Your Space (See ‘Is there separate camping for families?’ on our FAQ page), affording you the peace of mind that there’s a squad size space waiting just for you at the end of the tunnel, you’ll be pointed towards your pitch.
We’ve spent years cultivating a family camping field the whole team will be comfortable in:
“We camped in the dedicated family camping area, which was fab. With its own set of loos, a playground and security that meant only families could go in the area. No chance of being woken up by late night revellers.” – Craft with Cartwright
“Nozstock have thought of everything including a bottle warming service and baby changing facilities to further encourage not just families but young families too.” – The Strawberry Fountain
So, what does family time 20,000 Acres Under the Sea look like?
All events and activities are free of charge in the kids area, as we strongly believe families shouldn’t foot the bill for festival fun. So clear some space on the fridge door, and get ready for whacky workshops like The Mini Mixers DJ Workshop, Hula Hoop classes and Theatre of a Parallel World.
At Little Wonderland, our dedicated festi-zone for kids of all ages, workshops are carried out by the lovely Spare Rooms Arts crew. With the rest of the festival leaning towards the later risers, Little Wonderland opens nice and early, for those members of the family too excited to stay in bed!
Think adventures of the crafty variety, sea shanties and spoken word with salty sailors, and perhaps an early introduction to psytrance for the young’uns, surrounded by psychedelic sea monsters.
“Due to the versatility of the line up, numerous stages and music styles, Nozstock attracts a wide cross section of society from families with tots, to teenagers, glampers and the [seasoned] hippies I aspire to become.” – Craft with Cartwright
We pride ourselves on providing a truly intergenerational festival experience. Be it letting loose in front of the Orchard stage head-to-toe in face paint and sparkles, making friends with merpeople whilst exploring The Cabinet of Lost Secrets, or sitting back and basking in the sunshine at Garden Stage. At Nozstock, you can do it as a family. All of this, so that you can concentrate on what matters, making memories with the littlest members of your tribe. And then, when the kids are tucked safely away, the adults will play… making memories of your own. In the kaleidoscopic dream-fields of night-time Noz.
Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of last year’s wonderful Nozstockers had to say:
“A weekend of kids going feral and having awesome fun with lots of freedom and loads of getting grubby… we loved being with our friends while giving the children such a wonderful experience with their friends too.” – Rock N Roller Baby
“The crowd is one of the friendliest we have encountered… Young ravers, stood next to families who stood next to elderly couples, and all were there to revel in the fun on offer at every turn and have a good time.” – Wheresmytent.com
“[Children] are treated with the utmost respect and kindness; they are not in the way or a bother… I absolutely love the vibe here, it’s definitely a special place.” – Craft with Cartwright
