Josie Blakelock

Josie Blakelock

Josie has been writing songs since she first picked up a guitar, aged 12. She attended Hampshire boarding school Bedales, a place that has seen the rise of artists such as The Kooks, and Johnny Flynn. Supported by the astute mentoring of her guitar teacher, she received a place on the competitive Popular Music course at Goldsmiths, alongside a list of prestigious alumni. Yet Blake started to feel the course was holding her back creatively, and after a year of living in South-East London, she decided to move Bristol. Since establishing herself as a member of Bristol’s thriving music scene she has played at venues such as The Fleece and Thekla, and has supported renowned local and international acts such as Willie J. Healey, Gabriel Bruce and Leah Senior. With radioplay and exclusive performances for BBC Introducing In the West, she is set to be a force. For the past three years she has been working hard towards the release of her first album.
