Garden stage
The Garden Stage 2018

Welcome to the Garden – Nozstock’s booming backyard. Our melting pot of bass music is back with a bang. Home to hip-hop, drum & bass, reggae, rock and everything in between, everyone is welcome in our garden – as long as you abide by our one rule. It better be loud.

By day the Garden is an idyllic scene overlooking lake Noz – a perfect spot to soak in the sun and visit the garden bar – all to the soundtrack of some dazzling music. By Night? It’s a haven of bright lights, thundering beats and ear-shattering basslines.

Garden Bar

This year we’ve got an arsenal of musical weaponry ready to launch assault on your eardrums. Heading up the lineup – we’ve got UK dance heavyweight DJ Zinc. Sending heavy subs and skatty breaks since the days of Super Sharp Shooter, Zinc’s legendary status is in no doubt to those in the scene. Traversing through all areas of UK Bass music, from d&b, ragga-infused jungle, 2-step garage and traditional breakbeat, Zincs gathered a fair few tricks up his sleeve over his 25+ years in the game. After leaving the D&B scene for a while in the mid-noughties and moving onto pastures new, recent performances including dynamic b2b’s with special request have re-energised Zinc, and he’s here at The Garden, ready to teach us a thing or two.

Alongside Zinc we’ve got one of underground musics most renowned hosts in SP:MC. An unbelievably versatile MC and undeniably talented rapper in his own right, SP’s hosted events for Metalheadz, Autonomic, Hospital, Digital Soundboy, Soul:R, Innerground and more as well as his own label Shogun Audio. SP’s ability to guide you through a set is second-to none, his talkative delivery glides you through the dance, making you feel as if every word is exactly in its right place. As well as MCing, SP is a renowned DJ in his own right, with his records garnering heavy rotation from D&B icons such as Andy C, DJ Marky, Friction & Goldie

Randall at Nozstock

Joining the D&B crew we have veteran DJ & Nozstock regular Randall. with a career spanning over two decades, Randall has steadily built a reputation as one of the best DJ’s the UK has to offer, bringing an army weighty dubplates every time he steps up to DJ. A true D&B and Jungle legend, Randall’s set is never one to be missed.

Representing the Jump-up side of D&B, we have DJ & producer Turno. With a growing presence in the scene, Turno’s name is ever-present on lineups across the U.K, bringing a high energy- quick mixed pace to the dance. With bangers such as The Invaderz being heard frequently in the rave, Turno’s face-melters are sure to be blessing the D&B scene for years to come. Not for the faint hearted.

As per usual we have some pillars of the UK Hip-Hop community representing on The Garden stage. This year we’ve got iconic bar-spitters from across the isles, both past and present.

Mud Family originator and Finsbury Park icon Skinnyman, will be blessing our ears with his street wisdom-laced lyricism this year. Reinstating his importance as one of UK Hip-Hop’s most distinctive and important voices with a string of performances over the last few years, Skinnymans politically-charged bars motivated and inspired a generation of hiphop heads with unforgettable tunes such as “I’ll be surprised” and “Fuck the hook”  from the culturally profound “Council Estate of Mind” — and now he’s back, mic in hand, ready to do it all again.

Joining him we have two High Focus Records stalwarts ready to bring some bars to the Garden in Dabbla and Jam Baxter. Both rappers possess the unique ability to bounce, weave, duck and dodge between darkness-laden flows and bouncy jovial beats – balancing murkiness and playfulness as if it were notihing.

Baxter’s outlandish content & trailblazing style presents him as one fo the most enigmatically engrossing acts in the UK Hip-Hop scene. Known for old-school hip-hop staples such as Brains, these days Baxter tends to experiment with his flow and style – tracks such as “for a limited time only” and “mask” show his sonic exploration, but his signature personality always remains the most prevalent factor.

Dabbla’s dexterity from boom-bap to trap allows him to bring an energy to his music which permeates throughout his live performances – his rapid-fire flow has been known to cast a spell of carnage from stage to audience. From Psychoville to Death Moves, Dabbla’s lyrical skill and darkness casts a mesmerising spell when he’s on-mic – we can’t wait to see what these two High Focus OG’s have in store.

We’re delighted to welcome back genre-bending grime-punk fusers Pengshui. Made up of Prav (Foreign Beggars), Illaman and Submotion Orchestra’s Fatty, each artists brings a bag-full of musical pedigree, which combines to form a fiery blaze of musical energy. After last years performance there was no way we could keep them off the lineup this year. If you like your music hard, this isn’t one to miss. Here’s an example of the energy you can expect.

Gardna at the Garden Stage

Bringing the flavour this year we’re buzzing to see what our Boom Sound takeover has in offer. Head Honcho Gardna has steadily built a reputation out of Bristol with his mic-controlling mastery – from dancehall to reggae and D&B. Joining him we have MC and singer Eva Lazarus, slowly on her way to stardom, conquering each genre one by one – all while unsigned and self-managed. There’s nothing this woman can’t do, from reggae bangers with Mungos Hi-Fi (Amsterdam & Live my life), to big name crossovers with Swindle (Knowledge), Eva’s versatility presents her as one of the most exciting voices in the UK Bass scene right now.

Joining them for Boom Sound we have chameleonic DJ & producer Prince Fatty and his trusted MC Horseman. Both respected artists in their own right, Fatty and Horseman drew attention as a duo from a collection of dub-sprinkled, reggae-topped hip-hop covers. With tracks such as Shimmy Shimmy Ya and Insane in the Membrane  getting dropped regularly at sound-system nights across the U.K, theres no doubt you’ve heard Fatty’s bouncing-steppas and Horseman’s deep patois flow in a dance near you. Not one to miss – it’s gonna be a lot of fun.

Joining them we have Boom Sound residents Kreed, Asbo Disco and Fat Stash who will be handling proceedings from the decks.

Representing the ever-growing UK Bassline scene, we have one of the scenes most prominent next-gen artists in Notion. With tracks such as Vex garnering support from UKF and B2B’s with baseline VIP’s Darkzy, Skepsis, Holy Goof and Bru-C, Notions stock is rising within the UK bass music community.

Reppin the Old School we have breakbeat & Hip-Hop DJ A Skillz. The U.K based artist is known for masterfully chopping and flexing funk with Hip-Hop (Poppa Soul) and we’re excited to see what his progressive mixing has in-store for us this year.

Rounding off the Garden stage this year we have Nozstock regulars Rumble in the Jungle, sure to bring the steppa style thats catapulted them to the forefront of Bristol’s lively music scene.

Nozstock 2019 line-up announcement!

Grass as green as emeralds. The sun shining high in the sky. Trippy, technicolour décor. Kindly weirdos to join you on adventures who you’d never get to meet in the real world… Nozstock and the Land of Oz have a lot in common. You know what else they’ve got in common? Being full of banging tunes. While Dorothy has her predicament narrated in song by a cast of native munchkins, here on the Farm we’ve got to draft in an army of turntablists, drum-bashers, string-pluckers and singers to perform the musical backdrop to your weird weekend.

Orchard Stage

Luckily for you, we’ve gotten pretty good at this line-up thing over the years. Keep an eye out for hurricanes ready to whisk you away from your black-and-white reality to the fantasy of the Orchard Stage, whose humble boards will be hosting the award-winning multi-genre collective Rudimental, (DJ set) bringing the vibrant dance magic which has won them countless sold-out tours and headline slots.

Soul II Soul – who you’ll doubtlessly know from their smash hits ‘Back to Life’ and ‘Keep on Movin’ – will be keeping you moving throughout the summer evening. If ska is what you’re after then you could do a lot worse than The Skatalites, whose infectious sound spawned ska, two-tone, dub, rocksteady and reggae as we know it.

Get ready to wine with the best of ‘em with a set from dancehall master and all-round legend David Rodigan. Also gracing us with one of her iconic live performances will be Hollie Cook, one of the most highly-regarded names in reggae right now.

The beautiful lovechild of the King of Rock and the princes of grunge, Elvana, will showcase their inimical stylings. Rave-drunk beings from outer space, Henge, will be crashlanding to initiate us in the ways of cosmic dross aold onto your hats for the explosive dubby electro outfit King Kong Company. We thought you didn’t get enough of the Good Word last year… or the year before… so we’ve brought back the unholiest of holies who will be making you scream ‘Oh My God! It’s the Church!’ and down on your knees begging for more.

The Garden

Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick road round the farm and you’ll happen upon the Garden Stage, a firm fan favourite on the farm and your home for all things big and bass-y over the weekend.

Leading the charge will be Zinc, one of dance music’s most respected pioneers who can boast genuine underground and mainstream success across the genres of house, breakbeat, UK garage and drum ‘n’ bass. Next there’ll be firm favourite DJ Randall, who brought Nozstock to a standstill in 2016 and is back to give you more of what you want.

Rising star Notion will be showing us all why he’s one of the most exciting figures in dance music today. Meanwhile, prepare yourself for an electric live performance from your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper, Dabbla, and raw live supergroup Pengshui, whose sound encompasses the best of grime, rap, dance, punk and metal.

One of the few British emcees who needs no introduction, Skinnyman has received wide acclaim from the UK hip-hop press, and no doubt you Nozzers will give him an equally warm welcome. One of the most exciting artists to emerge from the UK rap scene, Jam Baxter, will be shutting the stage down like there’s no tomorrow, while turntablist wizard A.Skillz will be serving up a unique musical cocktail blended with his distinctive funk sound. Forgot to pack your bass? Don’t worry, mixmaster Featurecast will be bringing more than enough to go round, while born entertainer Turno will create a journey for you with his skillful drum ‘n’ bass, quirky humour and playful antics onstage.

Finally, because we love to give the stage over to the people at the top of their game, we’ll be hosting independent Bristolian record label Boom Sound for a takeover, including multi-talented producer, mixer and DJ Prince Fatty & Horseman, infectious lyricist Gardna joined by party anthem machine Eva Lazarus.

Cubicles

If you need somewhere to take shelter from a horde of flying monkeys, hurry on over to the Cubicles, our premiere converted-cowshed-dancefloor and the best place to catch some filthy drum ‘n’ bass. It’s our privilege to once again be hosting game-toppers Hospitality and their array of hand-picked drum ‘n’ bass talent for a takeover which is bound to get messy.

Pioneering drum ‘n’ bass collective Kings of the Rollers will be showing the farm what they’ve got, and the Byrd is the word when it comes to one of Hospital Records’ first signings, king of the dancefloor Danny Byrd. Named one of the top 20 producers in 2013, Keeno has only gone from strength to strength since, and he’ll be showcasing his broad and versatile style for you in 2019. Finally, put your hands together for a warm Nozstock welcome to one of the newest members of the hospitality family, Unglued, one of the hottest names in the drum ‘n’ bass circuit right now. This rowdy lot’ll be joined by the genre-spanning and boundary-pushing MC Inja.

Saturday will see a legendary back to back set from drum ‘n’ bass greats Shimon and Benny L, as well as a takeover from supreme tastemakers and Noz residents Nu:motive. Triple threat DJ, producer and label owner AMC will be demonstrating his carefully honed craft and technical articulation. Never one to miss a good party, the infamous Ed Rush – who has repeatedly changed the face of drum ‘n’ bass – will be down to show us how it’s done. It’s a dog eat dog world, and Kanine – the ambitious young producer credited with pushing Jump Up into the mainstream – is ready to kill – one to watch ‘coz the only way he’s going is up.

Bandstand

When you want to kick off your ruby slippers and relax but keep the music coming, make your way through the Dingle to discover the Bandstand. If you want to say smugly that you saw ‘em before they were big, this is the stage for you.

Bristolian bluegrass extraordinaires Medicine Creek will have you stomping your feet to their unique brand of old-time string band sound, while noisy post-hardcore lads Frauds make music which is a mix of danceable, fun, and downright angry. Guitar-driven indie four-piece Rainbow Maniac will have you dancing like you’re a teenager in the heady days of NME again, and be prepared to fall in love with up-and-coming alt-folk Wunderkind Sam Brookes.

Cardiff-based birds Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard are influenced by ‘70s glam rock and advise that their music should be listened to ‘ironically’, while Dylan Thomas enthusiast singer-songwriter Pierre Donahue draws on the likes of Nick Drake, Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt for inspiration, all with the distinctive lilt of his home country. Fans of all things folklore and fearsome will want to catch shoegaze slacker rock-inspired outfit Wych Elm, and if you do one thing all weekend, make it down to the ‘Stand to catch Nottingham’s finest emerging art-rockers Do Nothing.

Elephant’s Grave

The bravest among you may wish to extend your quest further to the west of the Land of Noz, following in the footsteps of giants to find the Elephant’s Grave. The latest addition to the farm, the Grave has been open since 2017 bringing you the finest in dub and reggae by day and deep dark house and techno when night falls.

Nozstock regulars Subwork will be returning with a bass-heavy takeover featuring Garden Stage curator and Brap FM regular Tenz, turntablist Revrt and the versatile, hip-hop entertainer Natty Speaks. We know that Data Transmission are just as passionate about dance music as we are, which is why we’ve handed them the reigns for a Friday-night takeover full to the brim with the best dance music-makers, for your delectation.

Whartone Records, the brainchild of Noz fixture Sonny Wharton – will be celebrating their 10th birthday in style, with a takeover representing the freshest faces and the tried-and-tested favourites of the UK house and techno scene. The man himself will be flexing his skills, along with house heavyweights Dom Kane, Dirty Secretz, and Luke Stanger.

Cabinet of Lost Secrets

Those of you who have experienced the Cabinet of Lost Secrets will know it needs no introduction. If you’re looking for a skank you’ve come to the right place, with sets from reggae and hip-hop influenced six-piece Lobster who plumb the depths of ska, dubby punk and everything in between.

Electro-soul pioneers Happy Daggers will be inducing some serious dance moves with material from their as-of-yet-unreleased debut album, while festival favourites Punch The Sky will sweep you off your feet with one of their now-infamously-energetic, world-music-influenced live shows: resistance is futile. Described as ‘The Streets meets Joe Strummer’, Birmingham-based spoken word artist Joe Cook will be delivering incisive social commentary in his unmissable rhythmic style.

To listen to some lovingly curated samples of the best Nozstock 2019 has to offer – visit our Spotify page for playlists of our headliners and artists from the Orchard, Garden and Cubicles stages.

Phew – that’s it for now Nozzers. Hopefully that’s enough juicy news to tide you over for now, but keep your eyes peeled for more over the coming months. We’ll be seeing you pretties in the summer, somewhere where bluebirds fly…

Nestled between our ramshackle Farmhouse and the Orchard Stage is the Garden Stage. To celebrate our 20th anniversary we’ve programmed a line-up full of internationally acclaimed party starters ranging from Funk and Hip Hop all the way to Drum & Bass alongside some of our long-serving Nozstock veterans. Believe us when we say you’re in for a treat… dust of your dancing shoes for this one.

At the top of the bill, with no need for an introduction we have the voice of a generation, one of Hip Hop’s innovators, the man himself: Grandmaster Flash. Hailing from South Bronx, this guys a true originator, he’s been in the scene since the early 70’s, when he developed a series of groundbreaking DJ techniques still followed religiously by selectors across the globe to this day. Known for his timeless dance floor classics such as ‘The Message‘ and ‘White Lines‘ and with an extensive back catalogue of records, sampling anything from Chic to Blondie and known for his electric, high energy live shows we can’t wait for the Grandmaster to grace the Garden Stage!

After the previous show they have put on for us, there was no way we couldn’t get Krafty Kuts & Chali 2na back to the Garden Stage for 2018. If you caught their set last year you’ll know.. if you didn’t then make sure you get to know! Expect nothing less than big breaks, funky samples and lyrical genius. Krafty Kuts has been a pivotal part of the UK breaks scene for a while now, with DJ sets full of energetic productions and technical turntablism he never disappoints. Joining him will be Chali 2na, hailing from LA and best known for his world famous Hip Hop group; Jurassic 5, Chill 2na is recognised for his quick delivery rapping style and energetic stage presence. He’s been igniting dance-floors worldwide with his signature sound for years now and is showing no sign of slowing down. Producer of beat Drum ‘n’ Bass classics such as ‘Lk‘ and the more recent ‘Silly‘, he’s flying the flag for the Brazilian D&B sound and his sets are bound to put a smile on anyones face. Joining Marky will be none other than MC GQ another true veteran of the Jungle scene, known for his unmistakable and unique flow he’s been holding down races since day one and isn’t one of the most respected MC’s in the game for no reason.

Now it wouldn’t be the Garden Stage without some UK Hip Hop and this year we have the Crème de la crème of the scene, headlined by Taskforce and Fliptrix. Taskforce are some of the UK Hip Hop originators, responsible for helping develop and influence the UK Hip Hop sound we know today. Fliptrix is again a pivotal figure in the scene best known for tracks such as ‘The High Way’ and ‘See the Sun’ as well as being the founder of one of the most important labels in the game, High Focus Records.

Verb T & Pitch 92 will be joining the Hip Hop crew showcasing their latest album ‘Good Evening’. Having been in the scene for well over ten years now these guys have a stockpile of tracks each with their signature reggae influenced sound as well as collaborations with Rebel MC and Ms Dynamite and remixes for the likes of Skream and Toddla T, representing the new school, expect things to get heavy when Serial Killaz step into the dance. After more than 20 years on stage, General Levy will be sharing his internationally acclaimed mix of jungle and reggae with us. Festivals across the globe have been conquered by the extraordinary talent of General Levy. Now it’s Nozstock’s turn.

Benny Page is joining the D&B party with his tight production, heavyweight dance-floor tracks and clinical mixing skills. Storming onto the scene with his 2006 anthem ‘Turn Down The Lights’ he’s gone on to release numerous well-received productions across the dance music spectrum. The Freestylers will be bringing their 20 years of experience with them to this year’s festival too, along with their ever-eclectic-style and renegade approach to production that focuses on everything in the bass music spectrum – designed for maximum dancefloor devastation.

Bringing the old school hip hop beats, we have Goldie Lookin Chain (Legends Set) and Rodney P & Skitz. In 2016 Rhys from Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Eggsy and DJ Killer Tom started a new show – Legends of GLC. It’s a old school hip-hop set up with a scratch DJ, video projections and all the best Goldie Lookin’ Chain anthems. In the words of Eggsy, it’s “a mix of stand up hip-hop and a powerpoint presentation.” (We’re pretty sure it won’t be your average powerpoint.) This legendary performance will be followed by UK hip-hop powerhouse Rodney P & Skitz; with award winning releases, remixes for the likes of Roni Size and a Radio 1Extra’s flagship hip-hop show under their belt, the duo are iconic figures who have played all over the world.

Finally, bringing a bit of Dancehall into the mix we have the ferociously fast chatting Chanelle Williams a.k.a Lady Chann. Responsible for bashment classics such as 2009’s ‘Your Eye Too Fast’ and 2010’s ‘Sticky Situation’ which earned her plaudits from the likes of The Guardian and Clash.

But that’s not all! See exactly what else we’ve got growing in The Garden for Noz 2017.

Line up announcement!

With the sun creeping over our Herefordshire horizon, we simply can’t wait any longer to give you gorgeous bunch your second line-up release, first up The Orchard Stage

I said a hip-hop, hippie-to-the-hippie, the hip, hip-a-hop, and you don’t stop, a-rock-it-out, bubba to the bang-bang-boogie, boobie to the boogie, to the rhythm of the boogie-the-beat. No no my friends, what you hear is certainly not a test. We are delighted to welcome the guys with which you all wanna hang, The Sugarhill Gang. Named after Sugar Hill in Harlem, this old-school hip-hop troupe blasted into global charts with their 1979 single Rapper’s Delight. This pivotal tune is widely considered to be the song that introduced hip-hop to the US – hats off gents!

We’ve got another US super-group heading to the farm, but they’ll be crossing the pond with banjos, fiddles and a whole host of hilarity… say ‘Hey ’to Hayseed Dixie! Formed in 2001, Hayseed Dixie (a linguistic nudge to AC/DC) released their first album A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC and since, have single handedly created the genre ‘rockgrass’ through fusing bluegrass with comedy and reimagining a whole catalogue of hard-rock classics.

You may have guessed that if there is anything we love at Nozstock, it’s energy, loudness and uniqueness. You can imagine therefore, our excitement to announce that folk-Celtic-punk pioneers Ferocious Dog will be tearing up the Orchard Stage this year. This piercing punk outfit became the first independent act to sell out Nottingham’s Rock City in its 35 year history – and it sold out in 22 minutes may we add!

We also welcome to The Orchard a veritable smorgasbord of festival favourites including Le Galaxie, The Baghdaddies, The RPMs, Neck, SuperGlu, Mille Manders & The Shut Up, Ouroboros, Little Big Stuff, Mica Millar and Humdrum Express.

A short saunter from our Orchard, is the glorious Garden Stage and my, my Nozzers do we have quite the sonic selection for you…

First-up we welcome Levelz, the troop that have been generating hype across the UK and beyond with infectious energy since their inception in 2013. Being described as “Wu-Tang meets the Happy Mondays,” it’s clear that this crew is difficult to pin-down. The core group is made up of 14 MCs, DJs and producers. This diversity creates a sound that spans multiple genres from hip-hop and grime to drum & bass and dubstep, even featuring house and jazz vibes.

Next up, we’ve got comedy, rap royalty Goldie Lookin’ Chain, who have been pushing boundaries and offending grandmas since they hit the mainstream in 2003. In August 2004, their single Guns Don’t Kill People, Rappers Do, went straight in at Number Three, firmly establishing this crew as a cultural force to be reckoned with. Years later they are staying true to the band’s identity, with their latest album Pill Communication as controversial and explicit as ever.

Sunday night sees The Garden welcomes back Nozstock favourite Benny Page. Heavily inspired by the basslines of dub music, ragga jungle and hip-hop, over the last decade Benny Page’s name has become synonymous with tight production, heavyweight dancefloor tracks and clinical mixing skills.

After a 20 year career The Freestylers have covered a full 360 degrees in the bass music genre, achieving the kind of success most artists can only dream of. In addition to their status of underground heroes, they have gained commercial success with their global hit Push Up and have had their music synched in many TV commercials and films, including hugely successful comedy Zoolander.

Garden Stage provides a haven for all things hip-hop, experimental and unsigned including The Lasting Days, CW Jones, Flamenco Thief, Verbal Highz, Snazzback and The Maitree Express.

For those of you who like their music funky over in The Cabinet of Lost Secrets we welcome Yusufla, Hallouminati, Hot Diamond Aces, Funky Navigation DJs, Beatwell & Dante, Rosebud, Calm Like A Riot, Mankala and The Discount Orchestra to the line up.

If seductive sass is more your thing, look no further than Velveteen Valley, hosting a bevy of cheeky beauties including Jolene Dover, Ursula Dares, Flossie Smalls, The Glitter Kittens and Jewel Personality.

The Bandstand has been getting in on the action too, we’ve got Yassassin, Goan Dogs, Keto, Frauds, Beverley Shrills, Josh Ace Band and a takeover of the best local talent with BBC Introducing Hereford and Worcester.

On Sunday afternoon we invite you to be as cool as Coltrane and feel as dizzy as Gillespie as The Bandstand becomes the Bluejay Jazz Lounge. Headlined by exciting young guitarist Remi Harris who has performed at Buckingham Palace, Montreal Jazz Festival, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Summertime and the living will be eassssy….

And that’s not all that’s new this year, we are very excited to announce a brand new venue in The Hidden Valley. Elephant’s Grave is a haven for dub and reggae in the daytime and house and techno after dark. For you reggae lovers we’ve got Ital Sounds and Boom Sound pulsing out the rocksteady rhythms, for the house fiends amongst you we welcome Bristol based From Berlin With Love to host Friday night and Saturday sees Fatboy Slim’s favourite, Sonny Wharton take over with Forte. Other artists on the bill include Dom Kane, Dirty Secretz, Drumlove, Gardna and MadMax. Learn the story behind the new venue name here…

As if that wasn’t enough we’ve also added more amazing workshops and creative activities for your mini Nozstockers in Little Wonderland and experimental, visual collective Mash have announced the highlights in Wrong Directions Cinema with a selection of surrealist shorts, live A/V performances, and BAFTA winning films. There’s side splitting a plenty with a host of witty talent during Laughing Stock’s takeover of the theatre and curious sights, interesting debate and powerful poetry lurk around every corner thanks to our walkabout entertainment.

Gosh, we need a strong cuppa after all of that excitement! Stay tuned for more line-up announcements coming your way soon and check out the line up pages for full festival billing.

Hiphop blog

First off, we welcome to the ancient world of Noz, all the way from the States, our headliners Jurassic 5. The hip hop moguls will be bringing the crew to the farm and turnin’ up the main stage with their infectious sound for ya’ll to enjoy. Named after a suggestion from a friend’s mum, the band have continued to deliver hit records and now have four studio albums under their belt. With a focus on music that comes from the heart their sound has become universal and rightly so! Expect drum machines, turntables, beats, scratches and one hell of a show for you to immerse yourself in. J5 have toured all over the world and love to entertain, which is why all of us at Noz HQ can’t wait to see them shut down the Orchard Stage.

Over on the Garden Stage, returnee headliners, the critically acclaimed Foreign Beggars, individually known as MCs Orifice Vulgatron, Metropolis and DJ Nonames, have built a steadfast reputation as one of the UK’s most versatile, creative and prolific acts. Always keen collaborators, the Beggars have worked with a plethora of worldwide artists from across the electronic spectrum. Highlights include Noisia, Dirtyphonics and Skrillex. With a top ten hit, over 50 million YouTube plays and a string of international headline dates ahead of them, things are going from strength to strength for the Beggars.

A major recent announcement is that we have booked hip hop DJ, prolific producer, and all round badman, the ninja that is… Jaguar Skills! Since 2002, this resident on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra has gained a reputation for his insane mixtapes spanning all genres. Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon will be bringing their beats too, so you can ‘hear them rattle’. Syntax first emerged onto the scene in 2003 and was a key player in the Foreign Beggars crew. Since going his own way in 2009 Syntax continues to get the recognition he deserves and has recently become front-man to The Mouse Outfit.  With tour dates up and down the country in music venues and at festivals there is no time to sit back and watch – time to get involved!

Keeping you guys entertained we have Bristol’s very own hip hop collective, Split Prophets.  Since the 2011 release of their EP ‘Scribbled Thoughts’ the crew have gone on to support Wu-Tang Clan, MF Doom and Klasknekoff. Watch them cause  a ruckus worth getting involved in.  Moving on….’NICE UP!’ records most recent signing, Cut La Vis, will be bringing his funky hip-hop reggae beats down to the farm to join the party. Mashup maestro turned original producer, DJ Cut Las Vis is no stranger to the decks and know’s exactly how to keep the dance floor moving. Expect higher energy levels than normal, though, as award-winning MC Mystro will be accompanying him on his quest. Mystro has performed alongside many artists including KRS One, Dawn Penn and Junior Reid. With his next album titled ‘Mystrogen’ on the way we are definitely in for a treat.  It’s certainly going to be one hell of a crazy collaboration between these two!

As well as all this we have some fresh new talent for you hip hop lovers. Hot off the mark, Alexander Gold’s latest music project named Black Salvador will be taking centre stage. Join him on a journey that includes everything from hip hop beats through to punk rock.

Returning to the Bullpen are Nozstock regulars and underground collective Sika Studios. They are bringing with them another eclectic lineup ready to rattle the Bullpen to its core. Featuring the likes of Klasknekoff, Devilman, Skuff & Inja, Tenchoo and many more. If this wasn’t enough, Sika Studios will be hosting a  R.L.D. showcase featuring Leaf Dog, BVA, Smellington Piff and Jack Jetson. Get your game faces on Nozzers and watch them tear up the stage.
