Honourable citizens of Noz – we thank you for your presence!

Charlie Rimmer - crowd at Garden Stage

Friends, Romans, countrymen … time to kick off your gladiator sandals, hang up your togas, put your sword and shield in storage for the winter and have yourself a nice sit down. Pop the kettle on. Bribe your mates to fan you with leaves and feed you grapes. You deserve it. Because, Nozzers, you smashed it out of the blimmin’ park this year.

From the littl’uns wowing us all with their arty crafty creations in the Kids Area to the dedicated partytroopers keeping the neighbouring cows awake til the wee small hours, each and every one of you brought a certain je ne sais quoi to proceedings. Repeat offenders and brand-spanking-newbies all coming together as thousands of threads in the beautiful tapestry of Nozstock, if you will.

All of us here at NozHQ thought this year’s crowd was the most chilled, friendly and fun-hungry we’ve had in yonks – not to mention the Sun Dance shapes you were all pulling helped keep the rain at bay for the weekend. We make you earn your keep down here on the farm …

As ever, credit where credit is due to the acts who kept you on your feet and/or on the edge of your seat, as well as to the traders who kept the Nozstock army marching, fed and sharply attired, and to the hordes of volunteers who descended on the farm to keep it clean, safe and sparkly for you all to do your thang in.

If you’re looking to give us a little token of your appreciation for the weekend you’ve just had – or if your Nozstock wasn’t quite up to standard and you want to let us know – please have a click on our Nozstock 2016 feedback form. There’s £100 of Amazon vouchers up for grabs for one lucky entrant to sweeten the deal.

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter over the coming weeks for photographic evidence of your time on the farm – to keep you going through those lonely winter nights when Nozstock 2016 begins to seem like a distant dream. Don’t worry folks, we’ll be back before you know it – see you in 2017…

Crew Profile: Martine van Dusschoten – “Volunteering at Nozstock, you won’t regret it!”

A few years back I came to Nozstock as a punter and had an amazing time. The small scale of the festival makes it cosy but there’s still a broad array of entertainment and music: high-quality music. The enthusiasm is felt all around; I danced vigorously for more than half of the time! The next year I decided I wanted to be more part of the festival, to add to the lovely atmosphere and fun experienced. I worked as a volunteer behind the bar, serving quality drinks to fantastic people. I had such an extraordinary time that since then I haven’t visited a festival without getting involved.

Half a year ago I started volunteering for Nozstock as administrator and a walk-about assistant and I honestly have never met so many amazing people in one place. And the common denominator? We all love Nozstock. Apart from just looking good on your CV, volunteering at Nozstock brings you so much more. I feel like I have found my second family! My ‘non-biological’ family; where people will be there for me when I need them, where I feel at home, where you’re taught new skills through aiding in putting on the most epic festival and just the laughs, the endless laughs… Working in an environment like this stops becoming work; it becomes hobby, or maybe even passion. I would strongly recommend anyone to get involved in this festival; you won’t regret it!

The buffest DnB line up.

Goldie Randall DJ Marky Dub Phizix dnb at Nozstock

Our music team have been working like the clappers to bring you the tidiest DnB line up of the year.

As well as mammoth sets on the way from Friction ft. Linguistics, Dimension, Rene LaVice and The Prototypes, there’s a whole host of seminal turntablists representing at Noz this year. We thought we’d pick out a few highlights to whet your appetite!

This guy really needs no introduction; Goldie is a household name when it comes to drum ‘n’ bass and jungle. Since the start of his career in ’91, Goldie has performed at some of the biggest and best music venues and festivals across the planet. His first release, in ’92, was released under his alias ‘Ruffige Kru,’ and his calling card landed in ’94 when he started his own label, the world-renowned ‘Metalheadz’. The label has represented artists such as Dillinja, Total Science, and the late Diane Charlamaine. Goldie has his own style and his passion for music is apparent, resulting in him being awarded a MBE earlier this year by the Queen herself for services to music and young people, (Go Goldie!). Last year he brought his first show of the legendary album ‘Timeless’ to life, performing it with the Heritage Orchestra at sell-out shows across the country. This year is his eagerly awaited and unmissable debut appearance at The Hidden Valley. All hail Goldie!

Randall has been on the jungle scene for a whopping 24 years, a true pioneer of rave culture. His collaborations with other artists include legends DJ Hype, Andy C and Jumping Jack Frost. Randall’s sets are a fusion of DnB rollers and ‘ruff ‘n’ ready’ jungle- definitely one for the old school heads! Catch him tearing up the Garden Stage over the weekend.

This year we welcome the infamous DJ Marky! Hailing from Sau Paulo, Brazil, this guy is guarenteed to get your feet moving with his unique trademark style. With cult classics such as ‘LK’ and ‘Yellow Shoes’ under his belt, its no wonder people flock to see him play. Joined this year by the legendary MC GQ, Marky’s set will be a gud’un for sure, so sing it with us now- ‘It’s the waaaay!’

Back by popular demand, Dub Phizix returns to the farm this year, joined by one of the best UK MC’s around, Strategy. Dub Phizix smashed up the dance in 2012 with his set in The Cubicles, and we’re sure it’l be the same story with this deadly duo on the Garden Stage this year. With an unmistakeable style and catchy as anything tunes, such as ‘Marka’ and ‘I’m a creator’- this set is sure to go down a storm.

But that’s not all we’ve got for you…

Our other amazing acts include; Ulterior Motive b2b Jubei, Amoss, Teddy Killerz, Jaguar Skills, Rockwell, Xtrah & Stealth, Uncle Dugs, Octo Pi and more. So get your skankin’ shoes on, stretch those hamstrings and get ready for the best weekend of the year!!

Second wave of acts joining us in The Hidden Valley…

Deep in the Hidden Valley, we’ve been working hard to pull together some very special additions to the line-up, giving you a shiny horizon of musical motivation as we enter spring…

Our first group needs no introduction, The Skints are legendary for their fusion of reggae, ska and hip hop. If the smooth sounds of jazz with an edge of rockabilly are more your flavour, the feisty Imelda May is going to wow you with her truly unique vocals.

To keep your feet moving as we enter the night, we present Jaguar Skills, famous for his stunning mixes of genre crossing sounds and his mysterious absence of identity. Meanwhile, icon of the London club scene, Goldie will be giving us a chance to see why his renowned label Metalheadz has recently earned him an MBE and from the not so far away land of Bristol, is My Nu Leng to mesmerise us with a blistering set and dark, smouldering vibes.

Over in Laughing Stock we’ve picked the cream of comedic talent to get your sides-a-splittin’. He’s joined by one half of Lee and Herring and star of BBC2s ‘Fist of Fun’ the stellar Richard Herring plus the outlandish and eccentric funny man Phil Kay.

Other heavy weight acts we’ve handpicked for you include Buster Shuffle, a cockney ska band with a rock and roll twist, The Lounge Kittens, a charming and cheeky trio, will a unique take on tunes that span genres from jazz to metal. We’ve also got a band known for their gorilla get up, The King Kong Company, who’ve been likened to the heavy bass sounds of Dreadzone combined with the hypnotic rhythms of The Chemical Brothers.

Plus hip-hop heavyweights SIKA studios return to The Bullpen with a tasty urban music line up topped off with the likes of Klashnekoff and Devilman, Tribe of Frog announce their headliners OOOD and Illegal Machines and The Blast return to The Bullpen bringing with them the likes of Sir Spyro and President T.
