Ready to join the revolution? The Altered State returns to 2019 with a fresh coup take-over, kicking out the austere and bringing the best of the new world’s imagination, performance and creativity. A must visit area for getting your teeth stuck into a bit of uproar…
At the pinnacle of the revolution, our Department of Cultural Affairs strives to present the best in theatrics and splendour. Delivering the spell-binding UV light show by night will be Hummadruz, this year soundtracked by ex-Craftwerk hero, Karl Bartos. By day, writing workshops get the creative juices flowing or try your hand in the circus skills school to get the blood pumping.
The Sunken Yard resident DJs heat things up with Garage Hour, the hardest breaks to bring the new found rebellion into the early hours, while guests The Night Owl DJs rewind us back to time of party and exuberance through their finests cuts of the 60s and 70s. Throughout the day the Yard will be filled with powder paint fights, party games and much more to keep you on your dancing feet.
Evenings at The Altered State are taken over by the Laughing Stock, our stellar front bench of comedians. Reginald D Hunter’s brutal honesty ‘flies in the face of received opinion’ (The Times), leaving his mark as he heads up a weekend of fearless laughter. Resident artists roam the streets and break out from the shackles of the stage in our Interactive Theatre, while powerful talks give you a moment to reflect on the world outside of Noz.
Times are a-changing and we need to act now. Try your hand at our craft stations and learn a new skill to help survive in the post-coup world. Bring your thinking caps to the sun-powered Slippery Stage, where daily talks help us create a better future for ourselves and generations to come.
To explore a new world or to think in new ways, swing by the Altered State and leave a part of the revolution… More info on our full comedy line-up coming soon.
